PlansThis is a substantial and attractive stone building set in a conservation area. We have planning consent for conversion to a three bedroom family home, which occupies a pleasant location within Stanhope, a popular dales town. It really enjoys the views over the Wear Valley and to the south open country side. The gross internal area developed is over 230m².
We are planning to raise the 1st floor so that we can improve the headroom height on the ground floor and avoid cutting the front door arch window. We are also going to install solid oak stairs with open risers. These will be across one set side windows so we want to encourage light into the the dining area. Building regs are quite tough especially for renovations and we are looking at various ways to retain heat and reduce our energy footprint. So we are going to employ low energy LED down lighters All our windows will be wooden sash with some very unusual circular window features at either end of the building. We have a very large vaulted ceiling and we plan to add a fourth gallery floor creating a peaceful secluded location for reading. |
